What to do and how to cope in the October Heat.
October in Livingstone is not for the faint-hearted. Temperatures regularly reach over 40c (104F) during the day so its very important to drink plenty of water (sometimes in the form of the famous local Mosi beer) and wear a hat and high factor sunscreen. Luckily we have a cool pool to relax in and lots of shady areas in the garden.
The mighty Victoria Falls is still stunningly beautiful but there are only a few trickles of water going over. For visitors this is an idea time to visit the breathtaking Livingstone Island and swim in Devil's Pool or navigate your way down the Zambezi River's famous white water rapids. A great way to see the falls is by air - microlight or helicopter flights give incredible views.
There are also plenty of animals around; you can regularly see elephants crossing the main road and sometimes they even visit Zig Zag at night. We've also had baboons in the garden recently!
The Falls changes so much during the year that it really is necessary to visit more than once so that you can see it in all its different guises. Get in touch so that we can help you plan your trip and activities to make the most out of your visit to Livingstone.
