Mango season in Livingstone
All over Livingstone and surrounding areas, mango trees are laden with their yearly crop of delicious fruit. There are so many trees in public areas that people help themselves freely but there is competition from bats, birds, baboons and elephants. Yesterday at Zig Zag a baboon came to help himself and elephants have been regular visitors for many months. At dusk the garden is filled with fruit bats swooping from one tree to the next. Even though the bats are big, sometimes they grab a fruit that is too heavy and we have to duck as it falls to the ground.
As well as mangos, we have pawpaw, pomegranate, lemon, grapefruit and guava growing in the garden so i you are lucky, you can pick your own fruit salad!
