Local Game Viewing

Mosi oa Tunya National Park may be small, but you can still see lots of exciting animals.

A few weeks ago some friends and I went to the Mosi oa Tunya National Park, which is very close to Zig Zag.  We had decided to go for a picnic so instead of wandering around the interior of the park, we just drove along the riverside road.  Game viewing is unpredictable, especially in smaller parks, but along the way we saw hippo, crocodile, elephants, zebra, buffalo, giraffe, waterbuck, warthog. baboons and vervet monkeys.  After a scrumptious picnic (thanks to the chefs at Mango Tree Cafe) and some hefty slices of birthday cake, we crossed over to the other side of the park for a look at the rhino.  We found 4 of them and had a breathtaking few minutes watching them calmly graze.

So even if you have only a short time in Livingstone, there is still much to see in the local park, as well as a fabulous riverside location for a picnic.
